Genuine Hospitality Letters

Chris,

I know you’ve been saying that you are interested in examples of quality customer service and unusual interactions that staff members have with members. Well, I saw something this morning and my jaw nearly dropped to the floor. I think you might like to hear about it.

Jason Needle was working "The Circuit" at about 9:30 this morning (Thursday) and was setting-up a young man on the chest press. No big deal so far, right? Well, this particular young man is someone I’ve seen around the club for the past 14 years doing cardio, usually in the upper fitness area. In those 14 years I’ve never seen him do any strength training. You see, this particular young man is blind, he can see shadows but that’s about it. Then it hit me. In all this time he needed help getting set-up. Until "The Circuit" was instituted he wasn’t able to strength train because he can’t see the numbers. Jason gave him his full and undivided attention throughout the entire length of "The Circuit." It appeared the young man had a good workout and I’m convinced he never would have even attempted strength training had it not been for "The Circuit." And throughout the whole workout Jason was there for him; the warmth, compassion, and attentiveness he displayed was evident from where I was all the way across the fitness floor.

Connect the dots......

Pat

I am writing to you to recognize the outstanding leadership qualities exhibited by Jessica Manfro during my introduction to Club Fit.

I joined Club Fit in early February, 2010, at the suggestion of my mother, Randi Sack, who had joined the gym one month earlier. My mother told me how much she was enjoying the gym, and I called right away to take advantage of the special initiation offer that Club Fit had at the beginning of the year. After I joined, Jessica reached out to me right away, with phone calls to see how I was enjoying the club and emails to see if I needed anything. She was very accommodating and gave me special passes so that my kids could try the Energy Center. Every time I have seen Jessica at Club Fit, she has been friendly, warm and encouraging. I especially appreciate that she has also reached out to my mother and made her feel so welcome as well.

Jessica is an incredible asset to Club Fit. She is helpful and approachable, and welcomed me with the perfect balance of professionalism and fun. Jessica is always polite, friendly and courteous, which are invaluable qualities. She is kind and genuine, and her work ethics are excellent. Club Fit is extremely lucky to have such a valuable person on their staff!

Sincerely, Lauren Norquist

I'm sure you receive a lot of emails telling you what a great job Stef Fucci does with her spin classes. But it's not just that. She makes Pilates a lot of fun and educational, too. Stef tries to keep the interest level of her classes high, and changes things up as much as the rigors of Pilates and spinning allow. She's a real asset to Club Fit. Even just trying to get a bike in her classes makes life more interesting!

When I decided to retire in May 09, I asked Ted Gilsinger to set up a regimen so I could lose weight and strengthen my body. Ted did that and as we started on the road to a healthy body, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Ted took all this into account and we continued to work out, taking the diabetes issue into account. I lost about twenty pounds and my blood sugar level seemed to be reduced.....Great news thanks to Ted.

When I thought all things were coming back to normal, I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Emergency surgery cleared all of the Colon Cancer and my Gallbladder and Appendix were both removed. I was able to leave the hospital within 4 days of the surgery. All the pre-op workouts got me out of the hospital in record time. ...Thanks again Ted.

I still have to deal with the cancer that metastasized to the liver. Since I started Chemo therapy I have been working out with Ted. Ted fully understood the treatments I am going through and continues to encourage me.  Without him I would be sitting at home, feeling sorry for myself. Ted is not only a care giver, he is My life coach

Please Thank Ted for all the effort he has put out for me...It really works!

I am writing to let you know of the excellent experience we recently had at Club Fit.  On April 10, 2010, we had my son's 3rd birthday party there, and I cannot say enough good things about the entire experience.  Jen Ritz, Julie Sevelovitz, and Ashley Distasio were the party hosts, and they went above and beyond to make sure that my son and all his guests had a terrific time.  We had a big party - 26 children total - and every single parent thanked me at the end for the excellent time their child had.  In fact, I have had a few parents tell me that they will definitely be booking their child's next party at Club Fit!  My son is still talking about his "cool party with the bounce house and bounce slide".  There was never a time when the children were idle or bored.  They ran and jumped, bounced and slid, and laughed and smiled the entire time.  The afternoon just flowed so smoothly.  The hosts did a fabulous job keeping the kids moving from one activity to the next, and then into the party room for pizza, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese, and drinks, followed, of course, by birthday cake.  The variety offered was incredible because there was something for everyone.  Even our guests with food allergies could enjoy and their parents did not have to worry.  We have been to many children's birthday parties in the past and none have compared to this one.  In fact, we recently went to two parties at NYSC, and they could not even hold a candle to a Club Fit party.

Club Fit is a terrific establishment and your staff is one of the biggest factors in that.  We already thanked Jen, Julie, and Ashley after the party, but we would be very appreciative if you could let them know again how grateful we are for the amazing job that they did and the truly happy birthday memories they provided for us and our son.  Thank you, Club Fit!
