Leah has returned to Kids Conditioning raring to go. She is an example of big things that come in small packages. She is strong, agile and coordinated. The list of this young lady’s athletic attributes is long. Running is not her favorite thing to do but she still gives her best effort. With a fitness-minded family as her foundation, expect great things of this pint size powerhouse! Go, Leah!
Most Improved Dryland Athlete: Sean Goldberg
This is Sean’s first year in the program. He is a positive, polite young man who regularly looks to improve on the drills he is given in class. He listens, learns and performs well on the balance equipment, obstacle course and turf activities. Always a pleasure to see his smiling face as he arrives excited for class. Congrats, Sean!
Hunter has been with our program for several seasons. His running skills on the track are strong and enthusiastic! He is often asked to demonstrate drills as his form is correct and powerful. Hunter’s upper body and core strength are on the rise and his agility is above par. Always with a story to share and eagerness to do well, he is always a positive part of our program. Congrats, Hunter!
Most Improved Dryland Athlete: Thurston Crane
Thurston has returned for his second year of Kids Conditioning. His endurance and strength has shown much improvement — encouraged by his outside hiking expeditions tackling mountain summits. He has a competitive spirit and is always looking for ways to improve. Obstacle courses are a strong activity for him as well as speed drills. A polite and positive young man and a pleasure to have in class. Keep up the good work, Thurston!
Malcolm has returned for the fall session of Dryland ready to go! He already has improved his running skills on the track and is enthusiastic about all the drills he is asked to do. Malcolm’s balance on the functional equipment has increased and his obstacle course agility is on the rise. He is such a pleasure to have in class, that I am unsure who is more excited for class… Malcolm or the trainers. Proud of you, Malcom!
Most Improved Dryland Athlete: Jonah Deckelbaum
Jonah is new to the Dryland program and already he has shown great desire to excel with all of the drills given to him. He has a competitive spirit and strives to do his best. Jonah excels at the speed and agility stations and always seems to be enjoying everything he does. He has been a welcome addition to our program. Way to go, Jonah!
Sara is entering her senior year at Lakeland High School. When she graduates, she is hoping to attend the University of Georgia either for engineering or to become a doctor. She has one sister, enjoys basketball and lacrosse. Sara loves the warm weather and being outdoors.
Welcome to our two new 2018 PDHoops Summer Basketball Coaches, Tori Jarosz and Saniya Chong! Both will be Camp Counselors for PDH Summer Camps run at Club Fit Briarcliff. Additionally, both are available for a limited time for Private and Small Group Trainings. Coach Tori Jarosz
• Won 2 section 1 titles in HS, and 1 state championship for Lakeland HS
• Went on to play one year at Vanderbilt then finished her college years playing for the Marist Red Foxes
• At Marist she was named the 2016 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Year after leading the conference in four categories; scoring (18.8 ppg), rebounding (12.1 rpg), blocked shots (3.0 bpg), and field goal percentage (49.0%)
• Two time all-MAAC first team selection at Marist
• 2016 NCAA division I Women’s Basketball Statistical double double champion with 24 double-doubles in 31 games!
• Has WNBA playing experience with the WNBA Dallas Wings during training camp
• Played professionally internationally in Puerto Rico, Lithuania, Australia and Israel
Coach Saniya Chong
• WBCA High School All-American
• 2012-13 Parade Magazine All-American Team’s Girls Basketball Player of the Year
• 2012-13 Gatorade New York Girls Basketball Player of the Year
• Won States her senior year in high school and was named MVP
• Section I all time leading scorer in high school with 2,988
• Played basketball at the University of Connecticut (UConn) for 4 years
• Won three national championships during her tenure at UConn
• Drafted by The Dallas Wings in 3rd round and played one full season and part of a second season the following year
• Played overseas in Israel and made it to the Final Four
Grace Kennedy is a recent graduate John F. Kennedy Catholic High School and will be attending Elon University in the fall to study Elementary Education. She played on three different sports teams throughout high school and is looking forward to working at Club Fit this summer!
Saniya is an avid basketball player, being awarded WBCA All American in high school, the Parade Magazine Player of the Year, and Gatorade Player of the Year. She attended the University of Connecticut and continued her participation in the school’s team and won 3 national championships. After college, she was drafted by the Dallas Wings in the 3rd round and had the opportunity to play overseas in Israel for her first year. Saniya is a very outgoing person, loves to smile, laugh and have fun.
Jacqueline is a rising senior at Wagner College in Staten Island. She is studying to become a nurse and is very excited on what is in store for her future. She enjoys helping people and making everybody feel like a somebody. She is the second oldest of six children and spends most of her free time with her siblings. Jacqueline is very excited to start working at Club Fit.
Dryland Co-Athlete of the Month: B.B. Pepper Jones
As a member of the Elite Squad on our Club Fit Swim Team, B.B. is an integral part of our group. She has been on the team for several years and sets the example for herself as well as the younger swimmers. She is a member of Croton’s Varsity Swim Team and brings that experience here with her training at the Club. Always a pleasure to have her in class and look forward to always staying in touch.
Dryland Co-Athlete of the Month: Susannah Radick
As a member on the Elite Squad, Susannah excels at all the skills and drills given to her during Dryland. Being a senior member of the team, she mentors her teammates and sets the bar high. As a member of Croton’s Varsity Swim Team she comes to Club Fit in top form. Always entertaining with her dance moves, Susannah is a delight to have in class. Look forward to seeing what the future holds for this dynamic young lady!
Dominick is a Junior at Binghamton University. He is currently in the school of management and on track to graduate with a degree in accounting. Dominick has been a member at Club Fit JV for almost 10 years. He is a big sports fan (go Yankees!) and also loves music and all types of movies.
Noah is a recent graduate of Horace Greeley High School and will be attending Cornell University in the fall. In high school, he was the captain of the Varsity Lacrosse team at Horace Greeley and was also a player on the Varsity Football team. He has 2 younger brothers and enjoys playing lacrosse and basketball with them. His favorite food is steak and his favorite color is blue.
Valeria is an incoming Sophomore at the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Environmental Health. Her goal in the future is to improve our Earth’s health and improve human’s health from of the impacts of environmental conditions. This summer, she is looking forward to spending time with her friends, family and joining the Club Fit family.
Alex has shown steady improvement through this past season. He always has a smile on his face and his enthusiasm is obvious. Alex is able to perform all the skills well and is always seeking on how to do things to the best of his ability. He loves to do machines and his fun loving manner makes Alex a pleasure to work with. Congratulations Alex!
Most Improved Dryland Athlete: Michelle Tsentides
Michelle is the fashionista of our program — always wearing proper attire, and wearing it well. We’re encouraging her now to perfect her “quick change,” so she can get to class promptly when it follows swim practice. She has improved on track drills, partner drills, core and agility taught in the program. This past month Michelle has showed her personal best each and every time she is in class. Keep up the great work, Michelle!
Warren has showed his talents this season as he joined the program this fall. He has improved in all training aspects excelling on the track as well as the SAQ drills that the trainers give him. He always gives 100% effort and challenges himself on a daily basis and encourages the other class participants to do the same. Congrats, Warren!
Most Improved Dryland Athlete: Malcom Mark
Malcolm is new to the Dryland program and has made a name for himself in a short period of time. His running has improved markedly. He desire to train and learn new drills is always apparent. Malcolm likes the cardio machines as well as the station workouts we do in the studio. He is a pleasure to work with and the trainers commend his hard work and efforts. You go, Malcom!
Eli is energetic, enthusiastic and looks to improve each day he is at practice! He is a humorous type of kid always providing a light hearted feeling for the class, and hopefully will continue to see improvement due to his hard work during our conditioning sessions. He challenges himself with the track drills and is a true competitor with the team activities. Way to go, Eli!
Most Improved Dryland Athlete: Jayson Park
Jayson arrives like a charging bull every time he is in class! His enthusiasm is only matched by his determination to continually improve each and every time the trainers give him a drill to perform. He is a pint-size powerhouse and always gives 100% effort with everything he does. Way to go, Jayson!
