Dietary background: Began baking for fun at twelve years old, which fostered a love of cooking or baking for others. Developed interest in nutrition after AP biology course in high school. First introduced to food service industry as a busboy at Route 22 Restaurant in Armonk, NY before holding positions as waiter, caterer, restaurant captain, prep cook, and line cook. Worked as a chef for a private beach resort in Newport, RI and helped develop a nutrition/cooking curriculum and various recipes for Tulane University’s School of Medicine at the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine in New Orleans, LA.
Fitness background: Played soccer and tennis from early middle school through end of high school. Primary mode of transportation was bike from middle school through high school; continued even after getting driver’s license at 16. Began weightlifting at 14. First gym partner was my dad and first gym membership was at Club Fit. Previously worked as a personal trainer at Equinox.
Fun facts: Was an extra in The Dark Knight Rises. Plays the drums and piano. Still enjoys cooking and baking for others. I like crossword puzzles and word games; love animals. Favorite food is tandoori chicken.
What are you looking forward to in your role at Club Fit? Helping others achieve their health goals and being a resource for anyone looking to learn more about exercise, nutrition, and cooking.
What do you love about being a personal trainer? I love researching and learning new things, especially when it involves understanding more about ways nutrition affects the human body. Being able to help others lead healthier lifestyles through food and cooking, or just working together to reach someone’s personal milestones are truly rewarding experiences for me, unlike anything else in the world.
