Club Fit is working to reduce waste and leave a smaller footprint
As we continue to look for new ways to embrace our neighborhood and support about members’ well-being, we are taking steps to help the planet by implementing these green initiatives.
In our cafés, we have made the switch to biodegradable straws and cutlery. The Eco-Products PSM (plant starch material) cutlery is made with 70% renewable resources, as opposed to the 100% virgin plastic used in manufacturing traditional cutlery. The Eco-Products straws, made from 100% renewable resources, are “so green, you can compost them!” And unlike paper straws, they don’t get soggy. Members have been telling us they definitely prefer these to paper straws. Also, starting May 1st, we will be offering ceramic mugs for your dining-in experience as well as a 20¢ discount for those coffee and tea drinkers filling up with a reusable cup.
To keep you informed about upcoming programs and events, we are now primarily utilizing TV screens as opposed to poster stands throughout the clubs. This cuts down on paper waste as well as freeing up space on the floor.
Over time, we are converting our lighting to use more energy efficient LED bulbs throughout the clubs.
How can you help?
