Siblings Julia and Jay Wilkinson are using their photos to help shelter pets
Have you noticed the sweet furry faces lining the walls of our JV gallery space this month? Besides being adorable, our May 2019 exhibit does more than entertain. The “Find A Home” photography project by Jay and Julia Wilkinson brings its focus to adoptable pets located at the Westchester SPCA in Briarcliff Manor.
Siblings Jay and Julia started volunteering at the SPCA as junior volunteers late October last year. Both siblings — who are long time members of the Club Fit Jefferson Valley Swim Team — juggle their busy middle school and swim & dive training schedule and try to dedicate their time at the SPCA. They started an adoption drive called Project Find A Home. As part of the project, they showcase the adoptable animals through beautiful portraits they have taken. They also write compelling stories and poems to go with the portraits in hopes of finding homes for these animals. To date, Project Find A Home has helped almost 30 cats and dogs find their forever homes. You can read their stories displayed with the photos. Jay & Julia welcome your help in finding homes for these animals.
If you or someone you know would like to adopt these animals, please contact the SPCA of Westchester at Briarcliff Manor. Visit their website at www.SPCA914.org to view pictures of more adoptable animals or call 914-941-2896 for more information.
You can view their photos and learn more about these available pets here in our gallery at Club Fit Jefferson Valley through the end of May.
