8 Week Session:
March 9th – April 26th
Adult Beginner (Program Pool) Wednesdays 7:30 – 8:15 pm
This class is for adults with a focus on water adjustment and basic swimming skills in shallow water. Classes will be developed at the participant’s pace, accommodating varying learning styles and abilities.
Adult Advanced (Lap Pool) Wednesdays 8:30 – 9:15 pm
For adults with basic swimming skills. Learn proper body position, kicking, arm motion and breathing techniques of major swim strokes. Improve participant’s endurance. The majority of this class will be taught in the lap pool. Students should be comfortable with deep water. Individual needs will be accommodated.
Make up Policy/Sick policy:
Participants are allowed 2 make ups WITHIN your registered session so long as the Aquatic office has received notification 24 hours prior to your appointment. Make ups will not be honored after the session has ended, we cannot guarantee you will have the same instructor.
We offer different classes and skill levels to accommodate each student’s individual swimming goals. Lessons are taught in a fun-filled environment where students learn the basic techniques of swimming and safety skills are emphasized. Water temperature is kept between 84 – 88 degrees in the Program Pool and a little cooler at 79 – 82 degrees in the Lap Pool, an ideal for comfort.
The Aquatics Center closes for 30 minutes from the last sound of thunder or sighting of lightning, which on some days may be reoccurring. To inquire if the pool is open or if your class has been canceled due to thunder or poor road conditions, please contact the Service Desk at (914) 762-3444 for the most up-to-date information.
All participants are required to check in at the Service Desk before each class. If payment is due, please take care of it at this time before class.
