Spring Session: March 9th – May 3rd
Pre-Competitive Swim Team allows for younger swimmers, 6 – 12 years old, who have progressed quickly through group or private lessons to continue to advance their skills without being on the competitive team.
With the Pre-Competitive Swim Team, the emphasis is on teaching the fundamentals of the 4 strokes with concentration on the technique while exposing the individuals to a team environment.
An additional benefit to this program is the advancement of pool time, meeting two times per week, which results in a more consistent progression of skill without the full time commitment of the competitive swim team.
All applicants must be evaluated by Head Swim Coach Marc Quintiliani prior to enrollment.
Only two makeups will be permitted should you miss a class and these makeups need to be completed during the same swim session. Makeups are not available until the third week of the session and need to be scheduled.
Lessons are taught in a fun-filled environment where students learn the basic techniques of swimming and safety skills are emphasized. Water temperature is kept between 84 – 88 degrees in the Program Pool and a little cooler at 79 – 82 degrees in the Lap Pool, an ideal for comfort.
The Aquatics Center closes for 30 minutes from the last sound of thunder or sighting of lightning, which on some days may be reoccurring. To inquire if the pool is open or if your class has been canceled due to thunder or poor road conditions, please contact the Service Desk at (914) 762-3444 for the most up-to-date information.
All participants are required to check in at the Service Desk before each class. If payment is due, please take care of it at this time before class.
