Why is Self-Defense Important?
Statistics say that all women are good candidates to become victims of violent crime at any point in their lives. According to statistics, a woman who is only 21 years of age has a 25% risk of suffering violent crime in her life. Self Defense is more than just okay. When a woman’s safety is in danger, defending herself by fighting back is the most ethical decision she can make. This class gives real life scenarios to illustrate how to react in everyday situations. Whether it’s coming from a bar, going to work, getting in an elevator and other day to day activities, this class will help a person prepare to get into a certain mindset, and if it comes to confrontation how that person can react physically to disarm them and get away safely.
This class will have open discussions on:
• Being aware of your surroundings
• Personal space • How to prevent attacks
• How to defend from purse snatching You will learn simple but very effective strikes, kicks, and techniques such as how to use your keys, brush, comb, nail file, etc. as a mode of defense.
