Hudson Highlands History Hike in the Garrison School Forest
“Where the Past Meets the Present”

The Garrison School Forest is only a 3-4 mile hike, but it’s really cool to see. This area contains the ruins of two Revolutionary War Forts, North & South Redoubt. George Washington was at this area when Benedict Arnold received the news of Major André’s capture. The fort was used to protect West Point, and secure the river. You can see quite a bit of the remnants on this hike! This is a good hike for children as they can learn about the history of the area! Please bring plenty of water, & snack/lunch.
