I started boxing about three years ago at Precision MMA and then moved over the Floyd Patterson boxing Gym where a do private and some classes. When I started, I weighed some 268 lbs. and since then lost close to 40 lbs. I was tired of the treadmills, bikes etc. and needed something that would push me. With the diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes it was time to make a change and this is what I choice and I don’t regret one minute of it.
I work out 2-3 times per week and never get tired of it. I have a degree in sport management and exercise. I began my fitness career in New York City, I was a personal trainer and then a director of fitness, and on to Assistant Manager. At the same time, I was the speed and condition coach for the New York National Tennis team along with some top rank juniors in the country at one time. For the past 30 years I have been involved in the health industry but on the side of construction and maintenance.
I took a long layoff from workout until I took up boxing. Over the last 6 months I went and received by certification in green level US boxing coach and plan to have my first fight sometime in the next year.
