Instructor Godwin Coleman

Tennis Professional

Mr. Godwin Coleman was born and bred in Accra Ghana and went to school in Ghana and London, UK. In 2003, he moved to the United States of America. He is a certified Tennis Professional by the USPTR and by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) as a Level 1 & 2 instructor.

When he turned 12 years old, he and his siblings started to play, on a daily basis, for the Ghanaian National Team where he travel to play ITF tournaments in Africa and Europa. Right after juniors, Coleman competed in several ATP events and represented the National Team of Ghana in several countries and in the Davis Cup.

Coleman has been a tennis coach for 15 years and has coached many juniors playing in the ITF Junior Circuit. He has also helped many get scholarships in Division I & II Colleges and universities. He has a passion is to teach and coach tennis players regardless of level – from the most competitive to those playing for leisure. His passion for the game is evident on the court.

He describes his coaching style as energetic and disciplined, integrating fun games into the lessons. During these games, Coleman strives to bring players to new levels. Coleman has captained a JTT 10U team previously. He adores spending time with his children and can be seen coaching them when time permits. His motto is “Don’t ever give up until it is game, set and match”…
