Luis Arguello was born in Mexico City where he started playing tennis just for fun, at the age of 8. He decided to take on this new sports when his older brother decided to participate in a few tennis tournaments. At 15 years old, he became the #1 ranked player within his state also winning Regional and Sectional Tournaments. A couple of years later and right after turning 17, he won the National Tournament and reached the Quarter Finals at the prestigious ITF Junior Tournament Casablanca Cup. The #1 position in the Juniors Ranking in Mexico, allowed him to gain much visibility and he received an offer for a full scholarship at University of Evansville, Indiana.
Luis later transferred to Oklahoma Christian University where he played as the #1 Singles and #1 Doubles player, leading the team to achieve a Top 5 Ranking in the US. During this period, Luis was named an “All American Player” and “MVP”. For the past 7 years, Luis has been living and working in the Westchester Area and has worked in a few clubs in the West Harrison, Mamaroneck, Rye and Scarsdale and is very happy to join the Club Fit Tennis Staff. He has 30 years of playing experience and 12 years of coaching experience. Luis also has a degree of Mechanical Engineering.
