Level 1: Water Exploration
Children ages 6 or older who might be afraid, uncomfortable in the water. The objective of this class is to help the child feel comfortable in the water and learn the basics of swimming. The objective of this class is to learn water adjustment, breath control, buoyancy, entering/exiting water, front and back kicking with support, and using arm strokes for short distances. No flotation devices will be used.

Level 2: Primary Skills
To enter class, children must be comfortable in the water using basic beginner strokes on front and back without assistance, or moving up from Pre-School Level 3. The objective of this class is to increase breath control, floating, gliding and flutter kicking on front/back and work on intermediate freestyle skills. The goal is to swim freestyle and backstroke with minimal to no assistance from instructor.

Level 3: Stroke Development
To enter class, children must be able to swim independent freestyle and backstroke, and demonstrate beginner level alternate side breathing for freestyle. The objective of this class is to focus on freestyle and backstroke with proper breathing techniques. This class will also feature an introduction to treading water, breaststroke and diving.

Level 4: Stroke Improvement
To enter class, children must be able to perform all of the skills in Level 3, and be comfortable swimming in the lap pool. The objective of this class is to correct and refine freestyle and backstroke, as well as practicing advanced breaststroke. This class will also feature an introduction to butterfly, diving, and flip turns.

Level 5: Stroke Refinement
To enter class, children must demonstrate advanced freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke in the lap pool. The objective of this class is to refine all four basic strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly). Children will continue to perfect flip turns and diving, as well as practice long distance swimming, and learning to use a time clock to keep pace.

Make Up Policy: Participants are allowed one make-up class that occurs during the make-up week of April 20th-26th. No make-ups and/or refunds will be provided if the participant cannot make the scheduled dates. In the event of a pool closure or lesson cancellation due to inclement weather, a replacement lesson will be organized by the instructor.
Goggles, swim caps and earplugs are available for purchase at the reception desk.

Enrollment: Minimum of three participants required for class to run. If less than three participants register for a class, you will be informed and may choose an alternative. Maximum of five participants will be allowed for each class. Your space is not guaranteed until payment is received. All classes will have one instructor.
Reminder: Payment must be received one week before session begins.
We offer different classes and skill levels to accommodate each student’s individual swimming goals. Lessons are taught in a fun-filled environment where students learn the basic techniques of swimming and safety skills are emphasized. Water temperature is kept at a temperature of 86 degrees in the Program Pool and 81 degrees in the Lap Pool, an ideal for comfort.
The Aquatics Center closes for 30 minutes from the last sound of thunder or sighting of lightning, which on some days may be reoccurring.

All participants are required to check in at the Reception Desk before each class. If payment is due, please take care of it at this time before class.
