Take the plunge… We have two large swimming pools to accommodate lots of swim activities. Our Lap Pool is kept just a little cool at 79 – 82 degrees for our lap swimmers, swim team and deep water exercise class participants. The warmer Program Pool is kept at about 84 – 88 degrees and is used primarily for swim lessons and group aquatic classes. It also has lanes for lap swimming. The zero entry section of the pool is the perfect place for our littlest swimmers to play. The whirlpool is for members and guests age 18 and over. Please note the precautions for use listed at the whirlpool area, or refer to our Aquatics Rules & Policies page.
Our water is kept clean and safe using an innovative mixed-oxidant disinfectant system. Our water will feel gentler on your skin.
Make sure your whole family practices water safety. We have lessons for 6 month olds through adults — all our swim instruction is American Red Cross certified. Kids younger than 14 can use our lap pool if they have passed a lap swim evaluation. Kids under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in our Aquatic Center unless they pass a junior swim evaluation or are in an aquatics program. Please see a lifeguard to schedule an evaluation.
For the Lap Pool: 70 Lengths = 1 Mile (1 Length = 25 Yards)
For the Program Pool: 102 Lengths = 1 Mile (1 Length = 52 Feet)
Open swim is available in our Recreational Pool (also referred to as “Program Pool”) during times when other programs and classes are not scheduled. The Program Pool waterfall can be turned on upon request when aquatic classes, lessons and courses are not scheduled.
During our aquatic exercise classes, a large section of our program pool becomes unavailable for free swim. Click to view the current aquatics class schedule. During Swim Team Practice, our lap pool is sectioned off. The swim team is allotted two lanes, and our regular lap swimmers have one circle lane and one lap lane available for use.
The busiest times in our Aquatics Center are weekdays between 4:00 and 7:00pm and weekend mornings. When there is an exercise class in the Program Pool, free swim is not permitted in that section of that pool. July through August, camp will use the Program Pool weekdays from 11:00am – 4:15pm; lap swimming in the Program Pool will not be available during this time.
Pool Skylight and Doors
Our Aquatics Center has a large section of roof that retracts to provide natural light and air during favorable weather. We consider opening our skylight or doors when it is more than 60 degrees outside, depending on the quality of the weather that day.
The Aquatics Center closes for 30 minutes from the last sound of thunder or sighting of lightning, which on some days may be reoccurring. To inquire if the pool is open or if your class has been cancelled due to thunder or poor road conditions, please contact the Service Desk at (914) 762-3444 for the most up-to-date information.
Aquatic Program Registration
To register for one of our programs, select the class from the program schedule and complete the registration form (if required). In order to secure your spot, payment must be made prior to beginning of class. For more information or to enroll, contact Scott Bernitt at (914) 762-3444 ext. 2108.
Our Swim Diaper Policy:
Accidents happen! In order to prevent as many fecal related incidents in the pools as possible, all children ages 4 and under are required to wear 2 Reusable Finis Cloth Liners when using the pools. They are available for purchase at the Service Desk and in the Aquatics Center. Please do not use the pools or club if you or your child are showing any sign of a gastrointestinal illness. We take keeping a safe and clean pool environment very seriously. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
If you have any questions, please contact Ruthie, the Aquatics Director, at (914) 250-2796 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
All members must be compliant with our policy or they will be asked to leave the pool until Finis Liners are obtained.
