Manny Boya
Pickleball Pro
Read Bio
As a young boy, Manny played many sports, including baseball, basketball, and football. He always had a passion for the game of chess and at the age of ten, was ranked number 5 in all of New York City. Manny served proudly for 6 years in the United States Army with two deployments that included South Korea, and Kosovo. He is currently a New York City Firefighter with 13 years of service. He has obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in both Computer Science and Information Systems Technology.
Pickleball is not just a fun game, it is the fastest growing sport in the nation. A sport that went from 250,000 players to 2.2 million in just 5 years. Manny began an extensive training regimen and traveled to many different areas of the country to compete in the game. The result of this work, has garnered him Gold and Silver Medals in the many different events that he has entered. Manny has become a member of the United States of America Pickleball Association (USAPA) and is a Pickleball Ambassador for the sport (a person trusted to represent both the sport and the USAPA).
After learning from many advanced players and gaining experience on the tournament circuit, Manny decided to go back to his Pickleball roots and share his knowledge with the people located where he first learned to play. He began giving pointers and saw many of these players quickly rise to a higher level of play. It was then that Manny realized his calling, which is to help and teach people. What better way to do it than through a game that is not bound by limitations such as age, ability, sex, race, culture or origin — agame that brings everyone together. As a pickleball instructor, Manny’s goal is to bring out the best in all of his students regardless of a person’s abilities. He will create a program catered to you, your needs and goals. You will find that Pickleball rocks! See you on the court!
