Stretch to Strengthen (STR2) Created by Dan Hogan to incorporate many existing disciplines of health and wellness movement practices including yoga, Pilates, Feldenkrais, MAT work, MELT and physical therapy modalities. The program focuses on healthy breathing techniques to facilitate better body awareness while properly activating optimum motor pathways for muscle recruitment. The class is non-impact, gentle in approach but provides excellent challenges for all levels of fitness to perform better by moving with greater efficiency. Each session is approximately 50 minutes, does not require equipment other than a padded floor mat and a towel. It is generally performed barefoot. It is appropriate for all levels of fitness, ranging from sedentary and deconditioned all the way to the elite athlete.
