The Mohansic Trailway follows an abandoned (1917) rail bed that went from the Putnam Division Railroad to what is now the Mohansic Golf Course. It begins at Rt. 118 and Downing Drive, crosses Baldwin Road ( 0.4 miles) and continues through FDR State Park to Mohansic East ( 1 mile). We will hike our way to FDR State Park and make our way back to Rt. 118. Comfortable boots a must.
Hiking Length: 4 miles.
Hiking time: 3+ hours.
Rain cancels.
Bring lunch and water.
Meeting Place: Address 374 Downing Drive, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. (Dunkin Donuts location).
This is the Downing Drive Shopping Center off Rt. 118. There is ample parking.
No need to register- just show up.
