Give yourself a treat by discovering this charming, well-cared-for private nature preserve that traces its name back to the American Revolution and the Boston Tea Party.
Children and dogs are welcome! Dogs must be on a leash the entire time. Not so for children.
Teatown Lake is currently undergoing major changes with lots of construction taking place… but most of the trails are open.
We are going to take an easy stroll around Teatown Lake where you will get to see some of what’s going on there. The lake is still as lovely as ever. Hopefully, the fall foliage will be at its peak.
(Seriously, if you are in a rush or want to walk fast, this is not the hike for you.)
Come and enjoy conversation and camaraderie on the trails.
Comfortable boots suggested.
Hike Length: about 1.7 miles
Hike Time: 2 hours with lunch
Bring lunch and water
Rain cancels.
MEETING PLACE Meet at 10:00AM in Teatown’s Main Parking Lot on Spring Valley Rd. (Just use Google Maps “Teatown Lake Reservation” and it will bring you right to the main parking lot… although with the construction going on you might have to park just across the street in their other parking lot.)
Free Parking! Tell the Attendant that you are on a Club Fit Hike. IMPORTANT!! Do NOT pay for parking… unless you want to give Teatown Lake a donation. Your Hike Leader will give you a FREE Parking Pass to display in car when you arrive.
Looking forward to seeing you there,
Peter
