The West Point Foundry was in operation in Cold Spring from 1818 to 1911. It supplied munitions to the United States Army during the Civil War and was registered as a national historic landmark in 2021. Our hike will take us past the remains of the factory and the stream that provided water power, including a picturesque waterfall. The second half of the hike will take us past the Hudson to the Cold Spring Metro North station.
Meeting place: West Point Foundry, 80 Kemble Avenue, Cold Spring, NY 10516
