Yin/Yang Yoga – Lucia Rich
- Yin/Yang Yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice-bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures.
Yin Yoga’s slower pace calms anxiety while also bringing balance to the organs of the body by stimulating the meridians (energy channels). It works on the deep (Yin) connective tissues, improving flexibility and joint mobility. Yang Yoga’s more active postures work on the (Yang) muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility.
Combining both Yin and Yang elements in a class provides a balanced practice and can have a powerful effect on energy levels.
