PLAYER DEVELOPMENT HOOPS

Player Development Hoops

Player Development Hoops (PDH) focuses on developing and empowering young athletes both on and off the court. We are focused to not only make our young athletes better basketball players but to help them grow overall as young adults.

We will provide a challenging yet fun environment that allows our athletes to create lifelong friendships and basketball skills. We strive to teach our athletes the why’s behind the game of basketball helping them to get an edge on their opponents. It does not matter what level you are when you start with us with each player we will build on their strengths and improve their weaknesses. Through time, effort and commitment we believe our players will get better and have fun doing it.

Do we have to attend all of the tryouts?
No, but there are 3 opportunities to tryout and the tryout fee covers all 3 tryouts.  The more times the coaching staff is able to see the athlete the better they are able to evaluate them.

How are teams split up?
Teams are split up per grade.  If enough to tryout we will have an A and a B team.

Is there a Briarcliff team separate from a JV team?
No.  We utilize both our Briarcliff and our Jefferson Valley club fit locations for the teams.

When will we hear back with tryout results?
The final tryouts are March 1st.  Tryout results will be emailed out no later than March 6th and we will need final decisions by March 7th

Is there a preseason meeting?
Yes, we will have mandatory parent/coach meetings the first week to go over all pertinent information.

When does season begin and end?
Season starts the week of March 16th and goes until June 7th.

How far is travel?
Most teams play locally in the tri state area.  Some of our A teams may have 1-2 sleep away tournaments (PA, NJ, Ma, all drivable).

What does the season cost?
In years past spring season has cost between $700-$800 (including uniform).

When do we receive the game schedules?
We will have practice schedules at tryouts.  Game schedules we will have the weekends and general location of the games but we will not get the exact game times or locations until the Wednesday prior to the weekend we are set to play.

My child plays another sport is this okay?
Absolutely!  We not only support but encourage multisport athletes.  We ask you to try to make as much of our schedule as possible but keep an open line of communication with us and we can work together.

Is there an opportunity to play through the summer after spring season ends?
Of course!  All of our spring players are offered spots on our summer rosters then we have tryouts to fill in open spots.

Meet the Coaches

The Coaches and trainers of PDH have high school, collegiate and professional team and individual coaching experience. Our staff has collectively worked with over a dozen professional basketball players (both male and female) and countless college athletes. They are dedicated to working with the players to help them achieve both on court and off court goals. Players will learn how and why to make a certain move as well as how to function on a team. Our staff does not stop once the clinic or training does. They are fully invested in their athletes to help them in their basketball career as well as to be a positive role model for them.

Player Development Hoops reserves the right to remove any player from a team, practice, or clinic for inappropriate behavior, language, or character. No refunds for league or training fees will be issued in such cases.

Testimonials

What Our Members Say

“My daughter played on the first PDH girls team in program history. The 2021-22 school year and spring/summer circuits will be her sixth year with PDH. Not only has PDH helped make her a better player, but it has also made her a better teammate. PDH is family to her.” – Mike Rose (parent of Emma Rose ’23 Graduating Class)

“Basketball and a lot more! PDH is a player development basketball program. The coaches are positive, supportive and dedicated on improving each players skills, IQ and love of the game. It does not matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced, PDH offers training for all levels and support their players on and off the court!” – Raefski Family
